Criteria to Judge & Weight: Belief

“Belief” is what I believe to be the core of living of every man kind which we use as a good criteria to judge or weigh something according to our decision/stand.

People can have a strong belief with religion, or have strong belief without religion,

but not believe in religion without a strong belief.

When someone tries to influence other people’s belief in the name of religion, a serious maturity is needed because when someone trying to influence other’s belief in his/her belief (to be a good manner or may not be in good manner), which may (or may not) against the religion actual wills, may oppose to someone’s family, friends, cultural and environment, may eventually lead someone into dilemma of beliefs.

I don't feel like talking more on the problem caused by dilemma of beliefs, because this will really make the world upside down and left side right. I hate that...

Between, I believe good religions change according to needs, such as cultural, environment and historical background of a community.

What I see now some bad people try to use the name of god in their favour to kill, to destroy, to suffer the people.

I asked myself several times,

Are we civilizing enough to be classified as “Mature” here in this universe?
I seriously doubt that.

Economy Really Bad...

Just return from China, Guangzhou for a business trip. Everything was really fine there weather was calm, around 12˚C to 24˚C, not really cold though, the only problem is the dry wind makes my expose skin dry, really dry and cracked. I had a mark on my face now.

Well, almost all the business partners we met there were complain about the bad economy affecting badly on the market, from the primary to secondary industries.
I wonder a country like China, which is consider a very self-sustain economy, producing all the raw material until all processed material from head until end, was affected by western countries’ sub-prime effect.

But back to Malaysia, our politicians insist that the sub-prime had nothing to do with Malaysia economy, which I couldn’t agree at all.

Understand that Malaysia bankers usually are conservative and very calculative on all the profit margin and return, the bad debts are usually not as serious as the western countries. Thus, there are no direct impacts on the Malaysian bankers as those appear in newspaper recently.
But, common sense will tell us our economy is affected directly by America because America is Malaysia’s biggest export country, around 60% of our electronics goods are export there. Who can guarantee the sales if America’s demand is lowered?

In my opinion, Malaysian economy body is shrinking, the job market too. I’m afraid nowadays graduating students like me are worrying the future career upon the graduation.

Story of a Great Man and Sea Turtles

Listen to the story of a great man and sea turtles,

During the hatching day of the sea turtles eggs in sands, there was a man walk around the beach and saw the first batch, a few sea turtles hatched and run toward sea. The man knew that was the most vulnerable time for new born sea turtles to be attacked by its natural predators. He acted smartly, using his umbrella to chase away all the predators and secure all the sea turtles run toward the blue sea.

He wondered that there are only a few sea turtles came out from the deep sands, because the beach used to be a massive sea turtles hatching place. Out of sudden, all the sea turtles dig out from the sand and run toward the sea, the man couldn’t help much because the predators were everywhere the beach and killed massively on the new born sea turtles. The survivals were fewer than ever thought.

Few years later, the man walked around same beach and he saw the same phenomenon, the first and few sea turtles hatched. This time, the man do nothing, he saw all the sea turtles were brutally killed by the predators. But he wonders was, there are no more sea turtles hatched and dig out from the sand.

The second days, he saw another batch of sea turtles came out and killed by the predators and no other sea turtles came out from the sands.

The third day was the same.
The fourth day was the same.
......

Until one day, the predators thought there are no more sea turtles lie below the sand and gone for other places to search for foods. One small tiny batch of sea turtles digs of from the sands and successfully run toward the sea without many losses.
Less than a fraction of a second, all the sea turtles dig out and run toward the sea and that was the time the man was shocked!

Soon after, the man realized that the sea turtles were purposely sending out the guarding squad to test the predators on the beach surface. The turtles will remain in the nest if the squad were killed instantly after digging out from the sand and of cause, run toward the blue sea if the squad were safely secure the beach and successfully run to the sea.

So now the great man wonder, what he was done for the good to save a few sea turtles from being killed by the predators had resulted the more sea turtles killed, by his act of good. Guilty or not for the great man now back to the reader’s opinion.

I remember well during my secondary school time, one of my classmates used to be very “convince” in all his saying. He is so convince in himself that he started to induce others to agree in him, even if he is wrong.

Several attempts I had done to prove him wrong (in fact my intention is to strike hard on his confident). But people around him seem to be supporting him blindly, even if he is wrong in the sense of fact!

I couldn’t believe that he
deserved to be trusted by them…

I asked myself on the above phenomenon for last few years and concluded that the supporters are “sohai” or idiots. Just follow and simple believe what the guy try to fooled around. Even their true feeling is obviously known that their idol was fucking wrong.

Recently, I faced a lot of problem, from every angle that I couldn’t expect at all. Out of sudden, my memories flashed out like a movie on the above phenomenon. I re-think on the situation and changed my conclusion I had made last time.

The guy I mentioned previously, not only fooling people around and yet making people convince in him. But he does actually pursue them, telling his believers what they like to hear, doing something the believers like to see, gave them some (valueless) benefits that his believers treated like precious… etc…

What he did wasn’t really convince me that the effects is so good. The effects are so strong that can even form walls between closed friends that sit next to each other…

The key is what?? Persuading? Something I never ever do to achieve goals???

Well, I had been emotional these days.

Imagine when I drove her from UPM to my house, a journey of 20 minutes (typical slow one) she couldn't get use the car vibration and people attention. What she did was keep singing song at a very high pitch!!

For the first few night she must be entertained by people to sleep, if she knew the master leave her, probably to continue for sleeping @ 2:00am, 4:00am, etc... She will keep barking with freaking high pitch to complain her loneliness. She will stare around see whether the master had leave her or not...

Not only that...

When she is hungry, she will be singing....

Inconsiderate Road Users

These photo was taken last Friday when I was on my way home, through the old Serdang road by skipping the toll.

First, there are 3 trucks driving slow at zig-zag formation, which force me to made a crazy-3-trucks-zig-zag-overtaking.

Now what???

followed by two idiot motorcyclists riding side-by-site and blocking people from using the left side of the road. What I further notice was, these 2 idiots were from the same company (because of wearing the same company cloths, I assumed) and keep chatting to each other while riding the bike.

SHIT!! they formed parallel blockage together with the truck on the 2-link road. I can't do anything but to wait the two idiots "overtake" the truck for more than 1 minute.

I bet they don't have the common sense that this road is never meant to occupied by those "stunt-drivers" or in other words, Son-of-the-bitch drivers. And, it's fucking dangerous!!!

It's 7000KMs

Huuurayyyyy!!!!!

My lad recently achieved 276000KM mileage!! That may mean nothing but...

...and it's 7000KMs under me!!! I still can imagine how this car look like 7000KMs before, no air conditioner, engine starter damaged, wiper spray not functioning, etc...

Wait... can u guys imagine driving a car without air conditioner in Malaysia? Especially during raining day. U can't open the window, rain water will pour in or else all the glasses will be full of your breathed water vapor...

DANGEROUS!!!

Now the car air conditioner is functioning, the dashboard is functioning, sometimes do even give me some crazee causa speed!!!

Violent People Will Not Change Their Behaviour Even During The Holy Fasting Month

On last Wednesday (3/09/08) afternoon approximately 3:30pm in Laboratory KEE006 at Level 6, Engineering Faculty, I was there to request 2 plug-heads from the lab assistance which I was so sure that the Laboratory was readily equipped with that facilities.

The lab technician, En. R*ddy B. Abdullah, insist that the lab is not equip with any plug heads. I showed him the plug head was keep inside the cabinet, which he claimed that the room is not accessible for anyone (In fact that room is the office which we much pass through to enter technician's room). I walked out from the room after he said so, and he pull my hand into that room, pushed and shouted at me by claimed that I was stealing from that lab.

In short, this is VIOLENT CONDUCT, any undesired physical contact, with or without permission on the other side, THIS HAD VIOLATED THE LAW!!!
I'll write 3 letters to Head of Department of KEE, Dean of Engineering Faculty and Deputy Vice Chancellor by this week. If there is yet any solution, we shall read the news.

Design and Construct a HVDC Transmission model with 2 converter stations at both ends and both have rectification and invertion changeability to ensure the bidirectional electrical power transmission.

Oh ya, I almost forgot to post out all my three choices for my FYP titles:

Design of Driving Circuit of Three Phase DC Linear Motor - Dr Norhisam Misron
Design of Three Phase Converter using H- Bridge - Dr Norhisam Misron
Construction of High Power Converter with Feedback Control - Prof. Madya Dr Senan Mahmod Abdullah

If I got the first 2 choices under Dr Norhisam, probably my title will change to "Design of Electronic Flow Meter using....." (Keep this secret and I'll reveal to the lecturer for coming FYP titles). But obviously end up to be a broken relationship to my closest lecturer which I had commit to him last semester onward.

The 3rd choice is not bad, but how come I didn't get it? I guess only one people will know, the one claimed that the entire system is fair BUT the entire selection process is completely in a black box.

Anyway, Prof. Madya Dr Senan is not bad, he treat me nice and he knew I dislike the topic very much. He keep asking me to change topic and recommanded a few titles and the concepts. I feel full of gratitude by his guidance. I shall not fail him.

Back to the hell black box, I challenge the system by putting everyone's CGPA on board and make appeal as an available option for those unstatisfy student.

They said they will arrange the Final Year Project (FYP) according to the student CGPA, which it mean a student with higher CGPA can kick off other people who apply the same topic with him.

But...

I got my Nth choice, which it mean there is no different to be like an item on eBay. Waiting to be bid by lecturer. I even challenge the FYP's head on the CGPA investigation. He claimed that he did everything right. But in real case I lose to someone I don't think they are as competence as me.

Week 7: Day of Days

I started to feel boring for being stay in Kuantan alone.. Especially at night because I don't have internet connection in my house .. I feel like lost contact with my original community and the only activity at night is watch TV or go out for sport. The situation now go worse when Sime Engineering owe my house owner 3 months rental and the stingy house owner cut down the Astro packages until basic package.

I can't watch Euro Cup matches live. I only got TV9 for delayed live football match, no multi-angle football pitch views.
I only can watch TV8 for mandarin News, sometime my housemates want to watch TV3 berita.
I only got AXN for comedy series, sometime my housemates want to watch Malay channels (mostly are free in Astro)

Luckily I still got some 18SX movies, when I in need....

Now back to my training at Gambang Petronas Gas Plant, I feel like I'm not moving forward any more. My temporary permit expired and Petronas Gas refuse to make one for me even only for this training period, so now I just can do paper work. Every time when I need to do site visit for inspection, I need to pass the inspection work to other seniors that had the NIOSH and CIDB to inspect the panel board on behalf of me.

Now my formal full time job is do report and prepare for presentation, because upon final week of my training program, I will be place to USJ Head Quarter to do a presentation on my training experience in front of a lot of big big fellow. My non-official full time job is to surf internet and MSN with friends...

This weekend I'm planning to Charas Cave and Sungai Pandan Waterfall for adventure... ALONE...

4th Week of Internship.

Into the 5th weeks of my internship with Sime Engineering, now my outstation assignment to Kuantan Compressor Plant started to transform into a vacation.

I think mostly of the people think that the living place provide by the company is usually suck compare to their home sweet home. Now I gonna show you all my Kuantan house located in Perkampungan Tok Sira.

I had spent more than 8 hours today to fucking format the free dos and find the drivers from the internet. but eventually end up nothing...

I only come home for one and a half day, fucking Compaq wasted almost one of my precious day being home...

First Week In Kuantan Site Office

Finally the first week in Kuantan is over!! I'm home now and last Sunday 4 hours drive was just like yesterday.

During this internship period, I will be attached with Sime Engineering under Kuantan Petronas Gas Compressor Expansion Project located in Gambang. I was staying in the temporary house provided by the company at Kampung Tok Sira, a semi-D with only one Chinese neighbour.

The only problem is every morning I had to drive 26km away from my house at Kuantan to Gambang and the first thing to do there is to punch card.

This is the speed i drive to work... 170++kph

The plant entrance, which is located around 1 km from the main road. The sweet thing is the road is rather straight and up and down like a wave shape.

My sitting place is inside is hot cabin.

A very handsome guy with full load of Normach, safety helmet and goggle.

Every morning 8am the site will have a briefing on the schedule and safety. In last week I already experience once inter-department arguing in the morning.

Our big boss is giving his speech.

Lunch time, Chicken rice with BBQ pork and add rice + Chinese Ice Tea + Hong Zou Tong Guai Sup @ RM4.30. Look at the number of BBQ Pork...

Compare-lah with our KL tiny transparent skinny BBQ pork. It's more worth!!!

I almost forgot to mention my house there got Astro with full subscribe package. Watching TV is my post-work activity's top list.

Basically my daily duty is in this sequence:
Wake Up->Go to Work->Lunch->Go back to Work->Go Home->Watch TV->Dinner->Watch TV->Sleep

Life is simple and great, because I don't like to mention what I had experience in that office and treated fucking unfairly.

Visiting Trip to TNB-R (27/3/2008)

Well, the UFO picture before was able to attract some curious people to wait for my post on my visit to TNBR on 27 of March. I must apologise to them because of my late publish on this post, because the trip was nothing but boring and basically the trip was used to covered us up for extra 10 marks so as not so many of us will fail this subject. BUT eventually I do screwed up for this final and last paper of the semester.

THIS IS HIGH VOLTAGE LABORATORY:

Below: 400kV rms. PSZ400-1000-25: Used to test an object under high voltage for a period of time.

The UFO shape-like disc is called Corona Disc, the design is completely out of sharp point to prevent high voltage stress and produced little lightning in the lab.
The sample is immerse into this oil liquid as the medium of conduction.
Below: AC Power Frequency & Partial Discharge Detector RSK100-1000-10. This device is design to test high voltage stress of a sample (usually cable) but at a low power rating.
Left hand side is the capacitor divider with the sample and connected to the measurement instrument.
Right hand side is the transformer to step up 415V to 40kV.

This is the final device and where the UFO came from...

Lightning impulse voltage generator: SGSA 1200kV-60kJ. The main function is to generate 1.2/50uS of voltage.

This toy had 12 stages and able to generate 100kV for each stage. The purpose is to simulate the lightning effect on the sample.

My First Day of Internship

Today is the first day to work in Sime Engineering Sdn Bhd as an intern. My supervisor, Mr. Azahar was once a UPM Engineering student. He asked about a lot of unknown lecturers at his time, I guess mostly of them already retired or changed their discipline for a long time ago.

(P/S: He said Prof. Mayda Ir. Dr. Norman Marium tak habis habis dengan PhD dia semasa saya belajar...)

The traffic from my house to office was clear and the parking lots are available.

Read Carefully! I do my intern for Sime Engineering, Not Sime Darby Engineering!! There are great difference between them!!! Sime Engineering is consultant firm for oil and gas, power generation, offshore, onshore equipments, etc. Whereas Sime Darby Engineering only do FABRICATION for offshore platform!!! Anyway, they are merging not as Sime Darby Energy Division.

My first week only got to attend meeting and study the catalogue forvalve, pneumatic, piping, and all elements in plant. Then I'll attend a safety course offer by Petronas and NIOSH to obtain a "Passport" to enter the site in Kuantan until my internship finish.

Ok! That is me at the first day of internship.

I'll stop here, got to prepare for tomorrow work.

On 31th of Match 2008, I finally promoted as "UNCLE CHONG" because my little naughty nephew was born after 36 hours of water breaking.

My mom always said I was very naughty because I was born 10 hours after she experienced water breaking. This situation was very rare for those who already gave birth for 3 children before. The only explanation I can give is because I wanted to choose a good timing to be born so as can have a good life!!! HAHA!!

Just finished 2 papers by today, overall it was OK.
Machine and Driver's paper is a bit complicated because the questions asked for a lot of definition and "detail explanation". Today Protection's paper is much better, out of 5 questions, 2 were from previous tests and the other 3 were taught in the class. So no big deal!!!

Went home straight after my paper, I got to do my assignment at home because my hostel’s monitor was strike by lightning last week. :-(

Between, this morning I had received a call from Sime Engineering and they offer me an internship placement in their company HQ in Subang Jaya and now I got to choose between to work for Sime or Electrical Construction company which I settle my internship first… headache!

This morning was another Anfield’s night for Liverpool fans because Liverpool won Arsenal by 4:2 and qualified to the semi-final with an aggregate of 5:3.Anfield, especially the Kop’s stand was magnificent, because they made Arsenal fans completely quiet in the stadium for the whole night and this probably can be named as one of the hell stadium to the away team. Liverpool is good in using its home ground advantage which helps them make a few great win and comeback at home, especially in Champion’s League for last 4 years. Hopefully Liverpool can crush Chelsea again for the 3^rd finals in 4 years.

Sufiah Yusof, this name had been long forgotten by Malaysian after 10 years ago she won herself a place in Oxford University because of her ingenious brain by passed A-level examination.

Three years into Oxford, she ran away from home and sparked a massive police hunt which shocked the whole Malaysia. Especially those Malaysian treat her as an idol of study, by her ability and magnificent skill of solving complicated mathematic.

Recently, London’s News of the World had discovered Sufiah Yusof (aka. Shilpa Lee) has been found to be working as a prostitute for £130 per hour...

My opinion is, her parents are idiot, ruined their daughter life just to make themselves famous by their "Accelerated Learning Technique" which get their daughter into Oxford. Now, everything is over for this family:

Sufiah Yusof is descent into prostitution in Salford, Manchester and her father Farooq was jailed for sexually assaulting two 15-year-old girls during his home mathematic tutorial.

African Animals as Pet?

Once a while not a long time ago, people keep complain about the security problems around their living area like; thief, robbery, burglar, threaten by gangster, drug addicts, or even policeman...

Our great philosopher, Sheng Wa did suggested that for security purposes, we should carry some aggressive pets like crocodile, lion or tiger alongside with us instead of those defensive weapon like paper spray, knife, electrical gun, which is not effective when someone is on panic button....

I think everyone might found a little bit illogic from the mad guy's suggestion, but in Africa, people do adopt some aggressive animals as pets, like the pictures below:

Wow!!! It's been more than a month I didn't blog about anything!!! Sorry to all my friends who thought I was dead after I was so focus in study and my club activities.

I'M STILL ALIVE, OK??

I knew I had been left out of my so-called normal life that I used to live in, weekday 8am-5pm study, 5pm-7pm sport/nap, 8pm dinner, after 9pm assignments, some little study, 12:30am sleep, Friday half day, Saturday only yam cha and watch TV and Sunday completely OFF!!! NOW, after I failed 2 subject in my first tests, I knew pressure is on my side, so for the past 1 month plus I never do sport, nap, Friday got to study as usual, Saturday morning and Sunday evening got to back to study.

LIFE's SUCK IN THIS WAY!!!

Thank god finally I improved, no paper failed this time!

I knew my life will get shortening in future if I keep my university life like this, with all the studies, assignments, pressure, works, etc. In return of no sports, no entertainments, no loitering time, etc... life is hard in this way, but in return, I did not fail any paper in my second test for almost 2 consecutive semesters that I managed to failed some papers in tests.

I don't wish to end up like this...

Men like me usually get satisfy easily, since the second tests get no paper fail, bad habits return, start loitering, talking politic widely and almost in all conversation, watch video endlessly, sport endlessly, and now even...... start blogging.

I think I should put a summary for what I did for past 5 weeks:

First, I would like to apologise for not frequently update my blog page. Anyway, I blog page don't really that interest for my friends to read, so it's still ok for me to be so lazy...

I'm in the examination week, yet this semester is as usual, busying assignments, reports, tests, activities, sports, copying, etc. Life is never been that easy for me these days.

Let's talk about my study; recently I was assigned together with my seniors in "High Voltage Engineering" to present a new topic to the class on the next day. As usual, as a member of the team, we give opinion and discuss on something that we never study before. I gave my opinion to my group mate based on what I understand after my reading and research on it.

The lecturer claimed that this is OBE (Outcome Base Education), which is the way students exchange opinions and learn from each other with the absence of lecturer guidance.
This is also the official way a lecturer can avoid teaching and being escape from their responsibility.

Bad thing start... while we doing our discussion, I receive a call from a company regarding my internship and walked out from the classroom. When I came back, all the seniors are fucking gone and leave me a message that I'll handle the whole presentation MYSELF...

Assholes, I knew that topic was fucking hard, not even internet have any relevant data on that method, everyone tend to avoid from the duties and doing the idiot decision by making the assumption that "The junior know everything since he gave opinions during the discussion". I can't do anything since everyone leaves the class room before I entered...

I end my class at 5pm that day, after rest and dinner I start to do that presentation slide and some detail study... But,
THE IS NOTHING I CAN GET FROM TEXT BOOK AND INTERNET.

I just used the marker pen and copy something from the text book on the transparent and simply present it on the next day. During the presentation, I keep saying "I don't know", "Don't ask me", "That all I know” and end the presentation in less than 3 minutes.

Of cause, the lecturer screwed me up after my presentation.. Fuck the whole team for bullying a junior to do everything, explain and explain the meaning and advantage of OBE... blar, blar, blar.....

Fuck!! I'm the black sheep in this incident... I get no support from a team that have a dead end topic even the lecturer that don't even know what is it.. No backup, no help, being scolded, treated unfairly.... Why me??

Thing turn worse just because I gave my opinion in the beginning???

Bad-Bad Contribution to The University

Now it's less than a week for university to reopen. I'm damn fuck up with myself with my faculty management and authority right now. They will only appreciate you when u are valuable to them, and dump you off the next second when you are useless to them.

It's all begins E-SCOSA competition, when three weeks before the competition, we (Team The Feathers) are still doing with our final examination we requested the budget from our faculty to back us up for the competition. What we requested were only a night with three rooms apartment, transportation and meals for 8 paxes (two teams with 3 members each, a lecturer and driver).

At first the faculty said they are very "support" to this kind of student competition, they will back us up as much as they can. They asked us to submit a proper proposal with budget and they promised to bring in the "Sidang"(An official meeting held by the faculty authority to determine the faculty policies and discussion on all affairs in the faculty).

The "Sidang" agreed on all the expenses requested by us. When we do reconfirm with the department 2 weeks before the competition, they refused to give us any financial support due to a very powerful reason....

"...according to the procedure, we don't know how to make the claim for students from the faculty..."

FUCKED!!! Everything was ruined, we planned to reached Peneng one night earlier and do testing on our model and debug it if possible. Now everything turns out to be other way, they only provide us with a van and will go off from faculty at 2:00am the same date as the competition. We are in doubt in that competition in term of physical condition, morale, spirit and even the will to fight for something in that competition.

I guess our budget was much lesser compare to their "white elephant projects" (Which are meaningless dinner with 100++ heads or unnecessary events like fishing at the faculty lake, magnetic contact doors, CCTV, lame and practice-less renovations, etc).

But we didn't come back with empty handed, we won the most commercial design for the competition and home with RM1000 as prize...

But now, they force us to donate the prize money to the faculty to support the coming students activities like our competitions...

But they don't even give us a proper hand for our competition, now they gonna take our money to support "the coming student activities"??? FUCK!! I don't believe that, they going to spend the money in their way and in their white elephant projects!!!

What I firmly believe now, UPM is going to be a serious contender for 500++ places for Times University Ranking next year.

We didn't managed to win the overall champion, but we did win the Most Commercial Design Award from the panel who are profession representatives from Motorola and ROVISP (Robotics, Vision, Information and Signal Processing)

当时最优秀的弟子神秀作的禅宗偈子：

身是菩提树，心如明镜台。
时时勤拂拭，勿使惹尘埃。
时在寺里打杂的慧能后来偶尔看到，自己也作了一首：

菩提本无树，明镜亦非台。
本来无一物，何处惹尘埃。
神秀的意思说：我们的身心实际上和佛没有两样，只是被烦恼的尘埃污染了，不常常拂拭不行。

慧能的意思则是：“本来无一物”，自己的身也无，心也无，哪来的尘埃可落，哪来的拂拭可做。尘埃和拂拭都来自我们的分别心。

妄想再大，也被这高处挥来的“本来无一物”喝破，从所有的对立中超拔出来。

神秀所作的偈子，从修行的角度来说，并没有错。但虽然是很棒的偈子，其中却有分别心。认为有自身，是因为有修行的造作之心。

但是，慧能的偈子则从对立的分别中超脱出来，身和心都没有分别，为开悟而修行的造作之心也没有，真正地进入了无我无心的境界，是“本来无一物”的根本所指。

鸿忍传衣钵给慧能，他就是后来的禅宗六祖。

Relief... But Not Long...

Finally finish 2 presentations and 3 assignments in this very last academic week. Now what comes next is the Final Examination for this semester.

Well, I'm as usualy.. not aiming 4 flat as my target. What I want is at least 3.5GPA every coming semester until I graduate. I rather learn more knowledge in performing various presentations, projects, on-hand-training, practice, explore more inside-field information, etc.
Maybe you all might found out I'm really weird compare to other coursemate, everyone is busy with their study, complaining the lecturers, comparing the schedule, copying answer and arguing their works is the best, etc..

What I gonna said about this different in mindset is... I'm ready to work in this field in future...

About Internship Program which we gonna settle next semester... We're going to meet the supervisor tomorrow, he got some information in hand gonna tell us. I'm hoping for some exciting news like a MNC is considering taking us as intern or what else... God bless.

The thing buzzing my mind is E-SCOSA 2007 ("USM-Motorola Design Competition"). I can't believe that our proposal was accepted as one of the final proposal by the panel. We used about 5 days to complete the proposal based on "INTELLIGENT HOME LIVING SYSTEM FOR ENERGY SAVING AND SECURITY". In fact we plan to get a title of "participation", but now end up in the final round which will be held in Peneng on 29 November. We need to build that model (MUST BE WORKING EXACTLY AS PLANNED) to present in front of a 6 person panel. What worries me is the time is running out and... we are yet to start any damn thing...
But the good new is, Dr. Samsul agreed to be our supervisor of this project, he will give technical and knowledge support to our team. Wish us luck!!!

One more thing.. I discovered one thing lately, about the typical chinese behaviour which we used to joke mostly of the time in Mamak store... Which is known as "The Red Ocean" Strategy. They will do EVERYTHING to eliminate their so-called competitors at all cost;

No matter how contempt the way,
No matter how childish their actions can be,
No matter how naive they are,

They will still try to use every inch they gain from doing these above on their competitor. I only have 1 word for them "UGLY"!!!

Even if they able to beat their competitor, it's worthless. Because you have no respect on individual, competitors, environment, rules and strategy... SORE LOSER!!!

Today I was summoned by my lecturer, Dr. Wan Fatinhamama binti Ahmad. The reason is I get a total mark of 43 over 90 for both my first and second test. Well, it's consider fail and the most important point is....

I get the lowest mark among my coursemates...

That is another record broken in UPM...

Well, the conversation with her was fantastic, I was able to bring her up to moon and go back to Earth, then follow by Mars and travel the whole ~~universe~~ solar system.

You all might be expect I'll be very upsad. In fact, I'm happy and really excited... That not just because of my first time for me to fail a tests, but at the same time...

I get the highest mark for my electrical laboratory.

I just came back from Power System Analysis second test, and this time… I think I’m really going to fail a subject in UPM for a very first time.

First test was dull, out of 5 papers I manage to fail 3. Except for Process Control and Engineering Economy and Accounting were passed. The rest are just fuck up!!

When the result out, it was shocking. Maybe this is due to during the first test, my faculty undergoes a stupid idiot useless ISO inspection and…

I look forward to make my second test better, doing freaking hard for my revision and prepare for it. I don’t blame I got 3 papers in 2 days time, just study and do exercises as many as I could.

The lecturer keeps on pop up some tips for us during the test… I don’t even able to recall some memories on the exercises that I had done, study, read, etc…

About my roommate, I knew his family is under financial problems since the very first week we meet last year. I pity his condition which restricts him from enjoying his university life like other guys here. Sooner, he started to active in his direct selling business, meeting endlessly inside the room, making phone call loudly inside the room for a long time (well, is to encourage and motivate his down lines to keep up their sales, which is damn annoying for me), using my bed for his business partners to overnight while I am not there, using my internet , eating my biscuit and dirty my table……… More and more to go…

The main reason is... without my permission!!!

In this camp, I was a Facilitator which was more like a patient in hospital. Fever, Sore-throat, coughing, cold... Argggggg!!!! But it doesn’t spoil my mood to enjoy in this camp.

In the first day, the misunderstood in between AJK (commmitee members) and Facilitators in handling the program was already sparks out some fire. The AJK (Mostly of them cannot speak in English) are the participants as well, but during the camp, they try to show to the facilitators that they are more like an Organizer rather than a participant....

They started to get late on the activities, missed the briefing; TALKING BAHASA AS LOUD AS THEY CAN... Although in this camp everyone suppose to talk in English, and I wonder what is their purpose of joining as participants. Bull Shit!!

On the first night we suppose to have our Burung Hantu, but it was cancelled, replace and recall AGAIN!! These AJK are fussing me... but due to the month of seven in the Chinese calendar, me and a few Chinese decide not to go into the jungle for Burung Hantu, we were order to stay at the assemble field for 2 hours more!! Within those 2 hours, I frequently hear some weird sound from the forest and out of sudden, the street lamp on top of the marble stone table where we were seated... SUDDENLY TURN OFF.....

The first night, Me and other 4 Facilitators were slept in the open hall, and the next day morning, we all 5 people are freezing... when I woke up, I keep running in a circle to walk my legs up, this is the first time my legs was that numb... But some Malays buddy thought I was possessed by something...

Second day, early in the morning we are all ordered to kayak and swim in the pond, it's cold though, but I really enjoy swimming inside the pond.. The whole morning was gone by floating in the pond. After that me and Veena did take a walk at the river and take a flash out of our selves. We walk till somewhere, we build a dam together, to block the current and make a more beautiful look on the river. After the rain in the afternoon, I went to the dam and check whether the dam was destroy by strong river current, thanks god it’s still there and a group of children was playing there. (I created a play ground for them)

That night we received an order from the AJK, all facilitators are only allowed to conduct classroom activities and we are not even allowed to gather them. This is just simply because we are interrupting their duties, finally the discipline violated, everyone came late for activities, walk around the park as they wished, missed the briefing, take extra food, etc. I was completely disappointed on this, this phenomenon seem like a curse to me when I become a facilitator. During the Orientation Week, mostly of the facilitators are not obeyed the discipline, making the juniors wild like a monkeys. Sorry I couldn’t mention more on these plainness memories. Anyway, F*ck those people who spoil my camp!!

The same night I and Veena went to find En. Fauzee, because that afternoon Veena told me she experienced something unusual during the Burung Hantu section. En. Fauzee perform some rituals and asked “something” to investigate for him what happened to her that night. Well, turn out OK… but he passed Veena a piece of Onion, which he said it will be protecting her from demand or something else.

Due to a heavy rain, the night walk in the jungle was cancelled and mostly of the tents are wet. That night I get more accompany to sleep in the open hall, something was weird… The next morning was not that freezing as yesterday!!!

The third day, nothing much happen but a treasure hunt was won by my team. Honestly, inside that team have perfect characteristics, I have nothing but a strong stamina, Michelle was noob as usual, sharp observation by Hui Min, Mia, and etc. Intelligent and cooperation was shown among the teammates, it was great fun to have together with them. But nothing as a prize for the winner team, so everyone just packed up and prepares to go home.

Overall, nice trip with all of my friends, but the organizer was really sucks. I hope such camp should be in charge by someone, who might not be as capable as the current AJK but at least can speak some English, obey the rule, discipline and a little respect to other people. This might at least help the flow of the tables, making

English a Fun to us, rather than

making Fun with English.

There is an incident I did not mention much, about a lady tent was cut by “something”, as describe by an alibi.

Road To Fecilitator (Part 1)

I traveled from home to Universiti Putra Malaysia, Kolej 13 as the earliest person check in. I was completely isolated from civilization, no lunch provided until 7pm the only thing I ate for lunch is an OREO. I meet Ah Boon as we are the only two Chinese from Kolej 10. We had been accompanying each other for these 3 weeks.

At night we were divided into 5 groups and my hostel was sent to Melaka Tropical Fruit Farm (MTFF) with Kolej Mohamad Rashid and Kolej 11.

19th of June

7:00am
We woke up and take our breakfast with luggage and went up bus immediately.

10:30am
Reached MTFF and briefing immediately. I and Ah Boon stay in a partition with 2 beds and 2 cupboards. The bed is smelly and I found rat’s dropping in the cupboard, so I dare not use the cupboard, all my used cloth was hang on the wall throughout whole trip. I used their bracket as the bed cover.

Since the next event is on 2:30pm and after lunch me and Ah Boon take a walk around the dome and found a lot of fruits especially are durian tree and rambutan. After the talk on the schedule, all Muslim members went for prayer expect me and Ah Boon, we take a walk inside the park, this time we can’t complete the walk because the park was so big.

This morning muslim should wake up on Subur (Around 5:30am) but I believe the attendance was so low until the facilitator came into the dome and said:

“Yang sudah bangun tu, bersyukurlah,
Yang sedang bangun tu, Alhamduillah,
Yang belum bangun tu, Ya Allah!”

I was awake and laugh like hell on my bed, but due to miss communication, we (the non Muslim) thought there will be a moral talk at the same time which we end up sitting in the hall listen to Islamic talk.

Unbelievable 8 hours of speech today… my brain was spoiled by the speaker that day. No memory left but a great laugher was make during each break, everyone, even the facilitators can’t hold their boredom.

21st of June

Finally we are divided into 8 groups and make a series of personality test. We were asked to introduce ourselves, family back ground and our life (in term of happiness and health). Our facilitator asks us to draw ourselves and our family, and then he analyzes our family background, what we have and what we need. Among our group mate, we did share our experience and our feeling, making our relationship closer.

I still remember that evening me and Ah boon went to back alley to steal rambutan after dinner and during their prayer. Well, that day I guess I make someone angry on me during the dinner, hopefully my “rambutan treatment” can heal and recover back our relation.

22nd of June

Basically nothing special on this day, I just remember we won the quest hunting, with a lot of obstacles including physical challenge, teamwork, and IQ test. I can’t forget the moment where me and Michelle carry two water balloons and assaulted by the facilitator. The challenge at the night was even tougher, it require more teamwork and more intelligence to come across the missions given by the facilitator.

That was also the farewell night for us to our group facilitator, the feeling was very sad and the last task was really lame, I almost crash by a car just because wan to “rescue” the exchange hostage.

23rd of June

Morning we have our final breakfast and we gather to receive our certificate for this Biro Tatanagara. The feeling was down; because this meaningful camp is going to finish. UPM bus came at 4 pm something although the camp was ended by 2pm. We reached UPM on 6pm something, too bad to say that dinner is not provided, mostly of the member went out for dinner or call for delivery but that night I manage to ran home and return back on the next day afternoon.

This is the moment of peace when Leiha.... FINALLY SHUT HER MOUTH...LOL

It's the 8th and the last day of the Marathon Campaign to become an UPM Fesilitator 2007/08. I'm back, after went to Melaka for Biro TataNegara for 5 days and other 4 days in Kolej 13 for Kusus Kepimpinan... Finally I'm home...

Give me time to rest, there are a lot more stories to tell in this campaign... I promise...

Today my family members will come back from China for their family trip. A week without them was too short for me feel any freedom. Further more within this 7 days i fell in sick for 5 days...

This morning went breakfast with Sheng Wa in pasar pagi. One idiot occupied my father store to sell his fish. I don't mean for anything there but he was shock that I was there to see his illegal activity on my father store and started to insult me with a freaking joke...

KNNCCB! I gonna revenge on u, fucker... you not only occupied my father store, you insult me some more... I'll let this itchy fucker with two-wives to taste what am I made of!!

Today I went to pasar and make his month shut, I went to his store and look at his unsettle fishes, give him a cold smile and ask him whether it cannot be sold off by today
(Of cause la!! already 12pm and "Sudah petang!!! ini pasar pagi, tau?")

Smile again, ask him where is his wife... Oppppsssss, suppose to be his wives!!!

I forgot how many times I had said that, yet my last post was about my final exam time. This semester break is very busy for me, from ROBOCON, Project F, working, my sister's marriage until some stupid irritating thing happened around me...

My sister is getting married this weekend; my house is busy with all the marriage ceremony preparation. Three week, I don't think I had much time for my personal stuff. Mostly of the time at home pretend like "Ah-Sei" being order to do this and do that... Anyway, THIS IS THE LAST WEEK FOR THESE!!

ROBOCON, I thought it was over because the lecturer had criticised badly on my senior's project (his robot la...). Out of sudden, my senior gave me a call today, his robot is probably in the competition because the other robot is fail to perform as planned. Sadly I had lost my partner in joining the competition, he got to work in IPOH. The main problem irritates me now is the competition will start this weekend and it crash exactly to my sister marriage ceremony.

Project F, it had completed today. I had successfully concert the Flash file into Avi file, the last process is to convert the file into VCD or DVD to be play on this weekend. I put my special thank to Danny who taught me all the skill to use Macromedia Flash. I really appreciate it very much!

Back to reality now, my works is still a lot ahead...

Just right after the second test, i was very busy about all the activities... sometimes i don't even remember i do have this blog page..

I just came back from hostel, before that, i do spend more than 20 hours this week in the ROBOCON workshop, for that two clippers that eventually work today...

I still have a proposal in hand, need to be submit next week. It's for the IEEE Membership Drive next semester... BUT i got to do it now...

Assignments... These things never last for me.. especially approached the end of semester.. they come one by one and form an avalance that eventually drown me up....

Holiday got to design IEESB UPM webside..... wtf??

First of all, sorry for not updating the blog for these days, I was bust with my Chinese New Year programs and busy for hostel activities…
It’s was all started when we discover the amount of juniors are interested to stay in hostel a shock increase of at least 700% compare to my year. The competition is on, to eliminate those who are not getting enough merits to stay in hostel…

I join freaking awesome Frisbee (aka the flying disc) opening ceremony and the practical section for the game... I meet Mr. Douglas who came to Malaysia since 1992 who even well-spoken in Malay language, what an amazing person to be our couch. I did manage to talk to him; he is a very nice person with rumor and creative character. Which make our program wasn’t that bore as I expected before. AWESOME!!!

I am not going explain more on this, found out ur self!!

I went to take my Golden Key certificate last week… Which eventually turn out to be a committee member selection interview. I can’t explain how it turns out until a crazy moment like that, so I decide to make a commit suicide interview by giving rubbish answers so as they would downgrade my personality and hopefully I would end up with any position in the committee members. Well, this society is very active in the campus, to be more focus, MAIN CAMPUS. Somehow I don’t posses my own vehicle, how am I going to involve in this society? To be honest, I don’t deny the factual stuff… I’M DARN LAZY PERSON!

And now focus is on the title, I found out one very special phenomenon in a little part of my surrounding. To be more specified on this circle, they are so-called as the traditional-minded cum with completely ideal mindset character society. In their mindset, nothing is possible to fail, if something fails, there must be someone got to be blame for EVERYTHING!

Take it easy dude… Who don’t make mistake in their whole life?

The problem is ON from that particular moment when something they planed turn out to be a failure or worse, disaster. Thus they need to get somebody to put on the gun head to, maybe release their un-satisfaction on the failure…

Ok… Now the key is who’s going to send in to the artillery range?

Usually for this type of traditional-minded cum with completely ideal mindset character society, people who just make ONE mistake will be blame on the next one, the coming one, and also the future one… The bad karma never ends there, and I was once being selected there…

I never doubt my decision from quitting from the traditional-minded cum with completely ideal mindset character society. In fact, I never regret to lose what I have there. Probably I can regain it in somewhere in a few years time, but at least I gain my pride for not being guilty ALL THE TIME…

Mood of the 3rd week...

I just finished the 3rd of the 14 study weeks, and in this past three weeks, really a lot of thing happened on me, especially from my study to everything. Through out the past 3 weeks, basically I don’t know what had I learn in the university and everyday just looking at the lecturer like a dump. I wonder how great if I still in first year, full of energy to discover something new, study the new elements in the Electrical/Electrics world. BUT now, I am nothing more than another lame person to loitering around the campus. The worst thing still, 20 credit hours this semester, I wonder how bad it will affect my CGPA if I didn’t do it in a right way. First class??? It’s no longer an option for me since my CGPA now is 3.755 which just slightly 0.005 above first class level. So, to be more practice, I rather want to enjoy my life more and prepare myself with more soft skills in the future. Well, I know my future career doesn’t really need a first class honor to be excellent in that field. Because what we learn mostly in the text book doesn’t applied outside this world.

I would prefer to call myself Engin, rather than a real Engineer even after I graduate. This is just simply because I am not qualified as a REAL Engineer in people’s eyes. What they expect is an engineer must be very smart, tough, analytical, ingenious, creative, ambitious… blar blar blar….
Basically I don’t think I obey any single one of the above requirements, because the words used are simply TOO ideal.

What my working experience told me was the real knowledge should not only obtain in the text book, experiences and practice is very important. Did we learn office politic in the text book? Did we learn how to dealing with Indonesian or any foreign worker in the side? (We just learn how to deal with YB or some big big fellow), and got a lot more examples la….

So my advice is, it’s good if you got a good result, but please don’t ignore other important soft skills that you will never learn from your text book, further more it won’t be in the exam!!

Now to back to reality, need to finish my report now…

In The Memory of 4 days In Kuantan

Well... It was a month ago, when i travel to Kuantan with Adelyn's family... I met her Grandpa and Grandma and live with them for a few days...

But grandpa had gone last week... I also don't know how to descripe my feeling now... It's complicated... I used to be simple and straight in mostly of my thinking... But now.... nothing that easy any more... Life is simply unpredictable....

It had been a year apart between you and me... and I wonder what had happened and changed you... For me, I waste my one whole year stay stationary to find my "New Direction" which I eventually found on last holiday... Now my objective is clearer than before, and I'm not going make it before my final decision is set on.

Back to you, after one year apart you're simply the same, but u had learn and explore what I told u a year before. People who know we well sure know I will try to travel during the holiday. But this time, I was unable to plan a nice trip to anywhere because the break is really short one. So, I follow Adelyn’s family to her grandparents’ house, of cause both old one and new one.
Kuantan beach is not only famous by its beautiful sea view but also the breathtaking monsoon season…
I mean a real breathtaking, the wave sound so scary when the wind is strong.
